Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 Endorses Dr. Amy Acton’s Campaign for Governor

AMHERST, OH– Today, the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 endorsed Amy Acton’s campaign for governor, citing her commitment to lowering costs for Ohioans, investing in apprenticeship programs across Ohio, and creating good-paying union jobs across the state.

The Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23 represents seven chapters across Ohio.

Dr. Acton has been endorsed by numerous key labor groups in Ohio, including the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters, the Ohio Iron Workers AssociationOhio State Council of Machinists, the Greater Cincinnati Building and Construction Trades Council, the Lima Building and Construction Trades CouncilUnited Steelworkers District 1, the Western Reserve Building Trades Council, the Ohio AFL-CIO, the North Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Dayton Building and Construction Trades Council, the Ohio Nurses Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, the United Auto Workers, the Service Employees International Union District 1199, the Communications Workers of America, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the United Mine Workers of America, and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 6.

“It’s a simple decision for us to make. There has been a continual effort to undermine working people and their fundamental right to collectively bargain. Any candidate who stands in opposition to that right—whether in the public or private sector—will never earn the support of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 23,” said Danny Musacchio, President of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 23. “We lead this union with one guiding principle in every decision we make: Will this decision better the lives of our members? I can confidently say that endorsing Dr. Amy Acton will do just that.”
