CNN: Acton Campaign Launches New Ad In Response to Vivek Ramaswamy

COLUMBUS, OH– On Thursday, CNN’s The Lead with Jake Tapper debuted Dr. Amy Acton’s newest response to Vivek Ramaswamy’s repulsive ad featuring her estranged and abusive mother, who stayed married to Dr. Acton’s rapist until the day he died. The CNN panel praised Dr. Acton for putting out this “effective” response that shows voters “what really happened,” as Ramaswamy displays the same eagerness to platform sexual predators that he has shown throughout his campaign.

This comes after Ramaswamy faced widespread condemnation and bipartisan backlash for airing the “vile” ad that has been criticized even by Republicans as a “disastrous, self-inflicted wound,” for Ramaswamy’s campaign.

Jake Tapper: “So Amy Acton’s campaign is running a brand new ad about Vivek’s ad… it starts airing tomorrow online and on tv, and we got an exclusive preview of it.”

Jake Tapper: “Do you think that’s effective?”

Karen Finney: “I do, particularly, and also in the last couple of days, I’ve seen the daughter, the stepfather’s daughter…From a previous marriage also come forward and talk about what this brought up for her, that she…”

Jake Tapper: “Cause she had been raped also.”

Karen Finney: “Correct…it also brought it all back up for her and her whole family. And, you know, we talked about this when this ad first came out, this is going to be the conversation between now and Tuesday… and I can’t blame Amy Acton for saying ‘look if you want to know what happened, here’s what really happened.’”
