Days After Dr. Acton Calls for Conditional Moratorium on Data Centers, Vivek Ramaswamy Rolls Out Scam Policy
COLUMBUS, OH– Today, days after Dr. Acton announced her support for a conditional moratorium on data centers to protect Ohioans from higher costs, out-of-touch billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy released yet another scam policy that offers no real solutions and shows just how much he loves profiting off of data centers.
Ramaswamy is lying to Ohioans and obscuring his own record on data centers. Ramaswamy has said repeatedly that Ohio needs more data centers, called them a “good” thing, and has made the data center boom central to his campaign. He is heavily invested in data centers and would profit from their construction while working families in Ohio continue to struggle. Ramaswamy has accepted $5 million dollars from tech businessman Elon Musk, a billionaire who loves data centers just almost as much as him.
Under Ramaswamy’s scam, data centers would continue flooding into Ohio in secrecy with out-of-control tax breaks and back-door-deal NDAs. He is not looking out for Ohioans; he is only looking out for himself.

Dr. Acton supports a conditional data center moratorium to ensure they cover one hundred percent of their utility costs, exclusively build with union labor, operate with full transparency, adhere to Ohio’s environmental standards, support the needs of local communities, and bring jobs to former industrial areas that have been left behind.
