- “I am a doctor. I’m not a politician, but I’m a lifelong public servant, and I’ve been fighting my entire life to make life better for folks, because I know what it feels like to be left behind… or be just struggling.”
- “And right now in my state, people are struggling. They’re working harder than they ever have, there’s no more breathing room left, and that’s why I’m fighting to make our state affordable.”
- “I’m fighting against a guy who thinks Medicaid and Medicare are mistakes and wants to completely dismantle it. While people are going an hour and 15 minutes in my state to deliver a baby or have a kid’s cavity filled, there are so many things worth fighting for.”
- “They want public servants again who actually solve problems instead of making them.”
- “…Decency is on the ballot in this election.”
- “We are fighting [for] a working families tax cut, a child tax credit. We’re alleviating medical debt. We’re trying to fully fund our public schools in Ohio. We’re pushing back on these Medicaid changes to keep people insured. We’re lowering electric bills.”
- “But see, my opponent, Mr. Ramaswamy, who thinks we’re lazy and mediocre and not working hard enough, that we’re suffering from ‘perceived’ cost of living… He’s not just out of touch. He’s not just out for himself. He’s a danger to my state and his character shows it.”
- “…My opponent’s PAC is called Victors Not Victims. My opponent literally featured in one of his ads, a known pedophile, that was in jail for eight years…”
- “My childhood did not make me weak. It made me stronger, and it made me a fighter for the things that we all hold dear.”
- “I have five governors on both sides of the aisle in Ohio, five living governors who have denounced this ad.”
- “There’s no low my opponent won’t sink to.”
- “I can just tell you that, you know, my childhood gave me almost a sense of responsibility to not look the other way when I see things I can’t unsee. That is the story of my life.”
- “…I think that Ohio slogan was always ‘The Heart of it All.’ We’ve got to put the heart back into the heart of it all, and that’s what I’ll fight for every single day of this race and every single day as governor of Ohio.”
