Acton in statistical dead-heat with corporate Billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy; Highest Job Approval in Ohio
COLUMBUS, OH: This week, Ohioans for Amy Acton received new polling from Impact Research that shows Dr. Acton in a strong position to win next November. Polling conducted of likely 2026 General Election voters in Ohio shows a dead heat in the race for Governor, with key findings including:
- Amy Acton is statistically tied with corporate billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy
- When asked about Dr. Acton’s time as Ohio Health Director, she has a stronger job approval rating (+10) than any other political figure in Ohio tested
- She has a clear path to victory against Ramaswamy next year with Ramaswamy already registering unusually high negatives (35% view him very unfavorably)
- When presented with likely lines of attack against her, voters are significantly less concerned (by 19 points) about Dr. Acton’s role in the Covid response than they are with other generic lines of attack that could be used against any Democrat, and her strong job approval makes clear that her time as Health Director is an asset.
“Dr. Acton is the candidate to beat corporate billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy in 2026, and Ohio voters are fired up about her candidacy,” said Campaign Manager Philip Stein. “Every day on the campaign trail, Amy hears from Ohioans impacted by high costs and health care cuts who are ready for change. They know that someone who rose from a tough childhood in Youngstown to be a doctor, saving lives in Ohio and beyond, understands what they are going through and will fight for them. And that’s exactly what Dr. Acton will do as governor.” Please see the attached for the topline results.
