United Steelworkers District 1 Endorses Dr. Amy Acton’s Campaign for Governor
COLUMBUS, OH– Today, Ohio’s United Steelworkers District 1 endorsed Amy Acton’s campaign for governor, citing her commitment to standing alongside labor unions, investing in good paying jobs, and making Ohio more affordable for everyone.
The United Steelworkers District 1, which serves all of Ohio, is made up of 14 local unions and over 60,000 active and retired members.
Dr. Acton has been endorsed by numerous key labor groups in Ohio, including the Western Reserve Building Trades Council, the North Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Dayton Building and Construction Trades Council, the Ohio Nurses Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, the United Auto Workers, the Service Employees International Union District 1199, the Communications Workers of America, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the United Mine Workers of America, and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 6.
“USW District 1 is honored to endorse Dr. Amy Acton’s campaign to be the next governor of Ohio,” said Donnie Blatt, the Director of the United Steelworkers District 1. “Dr. Acton is the only candidate in this race who will lower costs for working families, stand with Ohio’s labor unions, and keep right-to-work laws out of our state. We know she will be a strong advocate for us and our members.”
