What Ohioans Are Saying: Not Falling for Vivek Ramaswamy’s Falsehoods
COLUMBUS, OH — Since Ramaswamy began airing attack ads spreading lies about Dr. Acton, and following a thorough fact check from Cleveland.com, Ohioans across the state are voicing their strong opposition to the Ramaswamy campaign’s attempt to spread misinformation to try to sway their votes.
Columbus Dispatch: Character counts more than cash
- It’s sad to see how far Dr. Amy Acton’s billionaire opponent has stooped with negative advertising in recent weeks in an effort to gain votes in the Ohio governor’s race.
- …Dr. Acton is better qualified to assume those duties after he leaves office. Her campaign relies on citizen support, a few dollars at a time, whereas her opponent, according to news reports, has loaned his campaign $25 million in personal money, separate from a Super PAC which raised at least another $29.5 million.
- Money may run campaigns, but those dollars shouldn’t be the single reason why and how someone votes in a free election. Ohio faces challenges in the years ahead and as residents we must do our part to select leaders with a vision that will have a positive impact in all areas of society.
The Vindicator: Ramaswamy’s smears of Acton getting old
- I’m so sick and tired of Amy Acton being smeared by Vivek Ramaswamy.
- It was refreshing to see her go to action instead of sitting there doing nothing.
- I am of the belief that when someone is running against their opponent, they should have a platform to run on and the only thing Mr. Ramaswamy seems to be running is a bashing campaign.
- We all watched Amy during COVID and we all felt safer, in fact I would bet she saved many lives.
- To finalize my complaint, I am assuredly voting for Amy because she used her head and took action, which is what we needed during a terrifying time like that.
- As far as [Vivek Ramaswamy], he obviously has NO platform and has a filthy and nasty disposition.
- He’s not worried about serving the people; he only cares about poisoning the public’s opinion of another person, because he has nothing worthwhile to express.

- Ramaswamy says he is for Ohioans but will continue the current policies of Republican state and legislative officeholders.
- Affordability and inequity are important issues for Ohioans these days. They see rising costs of living brought on by ill-advised actions of Republican federal and state officials. They see enormous wealth gains by American oligarchs in technology, communications and finance; and as recently reported by the U.S. president.
- Think about this when Ohio’s minimum wage for 2026 is only $11, or $22,000 as an annual wage before deductions.

- I recently saw Vivek Ramaswamy’s new ad that blames Amy Acton for the closure of Ohio businesses, unemployment and inflation during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- [Dr. Amy Acton] made good-faith efforts based on available public health information and guidance.
- You remember DeWine, right? Earlier this year, he criticized another ad of yours, saying it was misleading and that Acton performed her duties on his authority. And here you are, trying it again — how shocking.
- As I see it, there’s the Amy Acton that Gov. DeWine trusted during a difficult, complex, and rapidly changing public health emergency.
Columbus Dispatch: Ramaswamy’s desperate attacks on Acton ignore facts
- The Ramaswamy campaign is desperate, probably because they realize that their candidate has no answers to the issues facing Ohioans. Instead, they are fielding a barrage of misleading attack ads against Amy Acton.
- The actions taken by the Ohio Department of Health under Dr. Acton – with the complete support of the governor and the DeWine administration – saved countless lives.
- Here’s the thing: Dr. Acton grew up under extremely difficult circumstances – a broken home, a period spent homeless and years in foster care. In spite of this, she had the strength and the smarts to put herself through college and medical school.
- [Dr. Amy Acton] chose public health as her area of specialization because, she says, that was where she could help the largest number of people. Her top concern has always been helping people.
- In contrast, Vivek Ramaswamy came from a high-caste family and has never known privation. His life has been spent acquiring personal wealth and, although he founded a pharmaceutical company, he has shown little actual concern for the wellbeing of others.
- Remember him on the stage with Elon Musk, as part of DOGE, gloating over the fact that they had just shut off funding for USAID. This one act, according to the Harvard School of Public Health, has resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths from infectious diseases and malnutrition.
- The choice of which candidate would make a better governor for Ohio is obvious; my vote is for Dr. Amy Acton.
