What Ohioans Are Saying: “Ramaswamy’s record raises serious concerns”

COLUMBUS, OH– Following another week of bad headlines for Vivek Ramaswamy, Ohioans are continuing to slam him. Voters across the state are saying “I’m not confident that he truly wants to work for Ohioans,” and that his past opposition for Medicare and Medicaid “raises serious concerns about his commitment to preserving access to health care.”

Ohioans are also highlighting how his “deep ties” in the data center industry raise the question of “whether his policies will put Ohio or his private interests first,” and even saying that Ramaswamy is simply using “Ohio as a starting point” for a presidential run.

BG Independent News: Why I will be voting for Dr. Amy Acton for Ohio Governor

  • Ramaswamy’s record raises serious concerns. He and his family profited millions from a failed Alzheimer’s drug, leading to significant financial losses for everyday investors. He also moved his company out of Ohio to Texas.
  • Furthermore, his recent claim that rising costs are merely “perceived increases” ignores the reality of high fuel and grocery prices. His proposals to consolidate Ohio’s public colleges and universities and his opposition to Medicaid and Medicare demonstrate a lack of support for critical state institutions and healthcare access.
  • Ramaswamy refused for months to call for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, accepted $100,000 from an Epstein associate accused of having sex with underage girls, and never returned the money.

Columbus Dispatch: Ramaswamy’s real race

  • My concern about Vivek Ramaswamy winning the governor’s race is that he doesn’t know what he doesn’t know, and he doesn’t have the humility to admit his ignorance.
  • I haven’t forgotten that he wanted to be president of the United States without any experience in government whatsoever.
  • I’m not confident that he truly wants to work for Ohioans and not just use Ohio as a starting point for his presidential ambitions. I don’t believe he has a sufficient idea of what it means to be a civil servant, nor the sufficient disposition.
  • So far, his experiences haven’t prepared him to think about the higher calling that a political career requires or the dedication to do what is right for its citizens and not just what is right for him.

Knox Pages: Who is Vivek Ramaswamy?

  • Forbes estimated Ramaswamy’s net worth at $2.3 billion in September 2026, money derived mostly from his early biotech and financial businesses. His investment portfolio includes every part of the data center supply chain, from chip manufacturers to the tech companies that operate the facilities.
  • Every time a data center is built in Ohio, Ramaswamy’s chip stocks go up.
  • Now he wants to be the Governor of Ohio, where he would oversee agencies in charge of regulating data centers like the Ohio Power Siting Board and the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), as well as JobsOhio, which provides data centers generous tax incentives to build.
  • Vivek Ramaswany’s deep ties and investments in data centers calls into question whether his policies will put Ohio or his private interests first?

Toledo Blade: Endorsement by OSMA not for me

  • I was deeply disappointed by the Ohio State Medical Association Political Action Committee’s endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy.
  • That endorsement does not represent physicians like me and, in my view, is inconsistent with the values organized medicine should defend.
  • As a family physician, I see firsthand how essential Medicare and Medicaid are to my patients.
  • Ramaswamy’s expressed criticism of these programs raises serious concerns about his commitment to preserving access to health care for Ohio’s most vulnerable residents.
