What Ohioans Are Saying: “There is only one choice for governor: Dr. Amy Acton.”
COLUMBUS, OH– As election day gets closer, Ohioans are making their support for Dr. Amy Acton loud and clear. They are praising her “honesty,” “integrity,” and “willingness to tackle problems as a public servant in Ohio,” saying she is the “best” and “only” “choice for Ohio governor” as the only candidate “truly interested in ensuring access to quality healthcare and public education.” They know Vivek Ramaswamy is an out-of-touch “billionaire who only cares about himself” who “mov[ed] his business to Texas.”
Cleveland.com: Ohio race pits Acton’s public service against Ramaswamy’s billionaire extraction record
- Billionaires like Vivek are good at extracting what’s valuable, selling and making money, and moving on.
- Ohio needs people in government who are interested in working toward the common good like great public schools and roads and parks. Ohio needs people in government who will work on finding solutions to problems like healthcare, clean air and water, affordable electricity and gas. Dr. Amy Acton has shown these skills and willingness to tackle problems as a public servant in Ohio.
- Elect Acton. Not an extractor.
Dayton Daily News: Acton best choice for governor
- Dr. Amy Acton is the right choice for Ohio governor.
- She is the only candidate truly interested in ensuring access to quality healthcare and public education, both vital to our state’s future success.
- While Vivek Ramaswamy may be touting his endorsement by the Ohio State Medical Association’s PAC, it should be understood that Ohio’s physicians were not polled or consulted on this decision. In fact, thousands of physicians like me support Acton for her policies that are in line with the needs of our patients and their families. Integrity and compassion should get our vote.
Marietta Times: Vote Acton for governor
- Dr. Amy Acton’s background is obtaining a degree from both Youngstown State University and Northeast Ohio Medical University. She has a master’s degree public health at Ohio State University and trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She has taught as an associate professor of practice in public health from Ohio State University.
- In 2019, Republican Gov. DeWine appointed Dr. Acton to his cabinet as Director of the Department of Health.
- Because of her work as Director of the Ohio Department of Health, she received a Profile in Courage Award from Caroline Kennedy and Jack Schlossberg. The New York Times called her “The Leader Which We All Wish We Had.”
- I encourage you to vote for Dr. Amy Acton for governor of the state of Ohio for her background of caring for people, her intelligence, her honesty, and her courage to protect and provide the best advantages for the citizens of Ohio.
Columbus Dispatch: Acton is the only real choice for governor
- If, like most people, you’re concerned about high gas, rent and utility prices; the medical debt that can accrue with one scary diagnosis or tragic accident; or the takeover of rural areas by data centers, then you are probably seeking a leader who will work to ease these hardships.
- There is only one choice for governor: Dr. Amy Acton.
- For over two years, she’s been traveling throughout the state listening to the needs and concerns of everyday Ohioans. One needs only to look at the actions of her past to know that what she is talking to the people of Ohio about, and the detailed priorities that she has shared on her website, reflect who she is and has always been. She cares for and will fight for us all.
- If you want a billionaire who only cares about himself, then Ramaswamy is your guy.
- If you want a true public servant who cares about all Ohioans and has a record to prove it, cast your ballot for Dr. Amy Acton.
Cleveland.com: Why Amy Acton’s gubernatorial bid won over a skeptical fellow physician
- …I heard Dr. Amy Acton speak. And I saw and heard, not a physician, but a human being. She talked of the economic hardships experienced by Ohio families and her “Working Families Tax Cut” plan. She talked of rising healthcare costs, decreasing insurance coverage and her plan to relieve Ohioans’ medical debts.
- She talked of the struggles of rural Ohioans, her pledge to keep rural hospitals open, and her plan to support Ohio’s farmers. She balanced the critical need to bring jobs to Ohio with the importance of bringing good jobs that improve workers’ quality of life.
- Amy Acton brings the skills and knowledge that we need in a governor, plus the heart and compassion to improve the lives of all Ohioans. I’m voting for Amy Acton, not because she is a physician but because she is a human being.
Cleveland.com: Son of Indian immigrants won’t back Ramaswamy in Ohio governor’s race
- …I cannot vote for the Republican gubernatorial candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, also the son of Indian immigrants. While I appreciate his success, how could he move his business to Texas? I will not endorse a top official who bails out of our great state.
- Thus, I support Democratic candidate Dr. Amy Acton for governor. Due to both her expertise and empathy, she will improve public health and the environment in Ohio.
- One day, I anticipate my state will elect a governor of Indian descent. But I am willing to wait, because it should not be Mr. Ramaswamy.
Crescent-News: Choosing Acton
- Vivek Ramaswamy’s record at Axovant is not one of integrity, but of exploitation. He promoted an Alzheimer’s drug that had already failed, relying on selective reinterpretations of trial data co-authored by his mother, who lacked direct clinical trial experience. This fueled a $1.4 billion IPO, while ordinary investors, including Ohio teachers’ retirement funds, lost millions when the drug collapsed. Ramaswamy, meanwhile, insulated himself from risk and walked away with an estimated $260 million.
- This is not leadership rooted in service. It is profit built on false hope, leaving communities to bear the cost. As one professor noted, it resembled a “pump and dump,” a scheme where insiders win while everyone else loses.
- Ohio deserves leaders who show up for the vulnerable, not those who enrich themselves at the expense of others.
- In this election, we must demand accountability and choose leaders who embody honesty, compassion and truth, not those who profit from despair. Amy Acton is a person of integrity that will lead this state for all the right reasons rooted in service.
