Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters Endorses Dr. Amy Acton’s Campaign for Governor
COLUMBUS, OH– Today, the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters (OAPFF) endorsed Amy Acton’s campaign for governor, highlighting her commitment to protecting Ohio’s unions, lowering costs for Ohio families, and putting working people first.
The OAPFF represents over 14,000 full-time professional fire fighters and retirees from over 300 Locals across Ohio.
Dr. Acton has been endorsed by numerous key labor groups in Ohio, including the Ohio Iron Workers Association, Ohio State Council of Machinists, the Greater Cincinnati Building and Construction Trades Council, the Lima Building and Construction Trades Council, United Steelworkers District 1, the Western Reserve Building Trades Council, the Ohio AFL-CIO, the North Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Columbus/Central Ohio Building and Construction Trades Council, the Dayton Building and Construction Trades Council, the Ohio Nurses Association, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, the Ohio Federation of Teachers, the United Auto Workers, the Service Employees International Union District 1199, the Communications Workers of America, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, the United Mine Workers of America, and the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 6.
“The OAPFF is enthusiastically endorsing Dr. Amy Acton’s campaign for governor of Ohio,” said Jon Harvey, President of the Ohio Association of Professional Fire Fighters. “Dr. Acton is the only candidate in this race who will protect unions in Ohio, stand up for working people, and make life more affordable for everyone. We know she will always have our backs.”
